Sachin moves up in ICC test rankings [Monday, November 23, 2009]
Despite indirect hints and talks from many of his critics that it is time for Sachin to retire from the main stream cricketing, the player has once again proved himself worthy of his position by climbing up the ICC Test Rankings. The veteran cricketer now shares the 15th position with England's batsman Kevin Pietersen. The list also saw Indian opener Gautam Gambhir's rating slipping down to third. The new ratings in Sachin's rank came in the wake of his brilliant performance against Srilanka in the opening test. The master blaster had achieved a score of 275, which was also his sixth double century in 108 tests. Recently the cricketer had turned to be the centre of political attention in the wake of his comments on Mumbai that was taken in the offensive by Bal Thackerey. However, the new ratings of the cricketer is expected to shroud him from the related controversies that was circling around his political outlook.
