With faded expectations of playing in the Champions Trophy, India' s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar returned home after sustaining a cut in his cheek when he fell unconscious due to food poisoning. Sachin who was in a Johannesburg hotel returned to India due to the stomach infection. The player who was affected by the contaminated food fell flat on his face on the floor and consequently hurt his cheek. There was no information from the team management regarding the incident. A section of the media reported that the player ate something at the stadium in centurion which might have led to the infection and the giddiness.
