Chief Minister hopes for unity  [Monday, April 5, 2010]

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said that he was 'praying' for unity in his family though he does not believe that god exists. The Chief Minister conveyed that it was his hope that his family remains united and undisturbed. He was participating at the 'arangetam' of his grand daughter Ezhilarasi Jothimani at the Muisc Academy. Mr Karunanidhi expressed his concerns about his family addressing the press at the Music Academy. The chief minister also said that music and pleasure remians unseperable as people and government remains unseperabale. The event was attened by music maestro Illayaraja and vocalist Nithyasree Mahadevan.

It was less than a month back when the power struggle between his sons remerged before the media. Though there is wide speculation that the issue might get worse as soon as Karunanidhi chooses to step down, there is still no consensus within the party on how the claims can be amicably settled.
