The by elections at Pennagaram saw a high voter turn out on saturday. It recorded a voter turn out of 84.95 per cent. A total of 1,70,755 votes were polled. A total of 1,12,892 men and 98,116 women casted their votes. Polling, which began at 8 a.m., was over in all but 10 booths, where it was completed by 9.20 pm. The Chief Election Officer Naresh Gupta was stationed in Dharmapuri for the last two days. The counting of the votes will start on tuesday. |
