The AIADMK on wednesday announced R Anbazhagan as the party's nominee for Pennagaram bypolls. The announcement regarding the same was made by party chief Jayalalitha in a statement. Anbazhagan is serving as the party's Dharmapuri district secretary. The DMK has already nominated P N P Inbasekaran, son of the deceased MLA Periyannan. The by elections will be conducted on March 27 and will be a significant challenge to the leading parties as the district is a hub of Vanniya community that supports PMK. Food Minister A V Velu is leading the DMK campaign. The PMK founder S Ramdoss is already very active with campaigning. The Pennagarm polls were under the lime light as the election commission had to revise the poll list after the allegation propped up that numerous names were deleted from the list.
