The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said that the appointment of the committee on mullaperiyar issue was not of any help to both states. With regard to the cliam made by kerala chief minister that the apex court verdict favoured kerala, Mr Karunanidhi wrote that neither did Tamil Nadu loose not did kerala gain from the verdict. "Some hasty people who say that Tamil Nadu was betrayed in the Mullaperiyar case are doing so only to gain political mileage,” , said the TN Chief Minister. The supreme court appointed a five member high power commitee on thursday to examine the safety levels of the Mullaperiyar dam.
