Chief Minister urges island nation to keep its word [Sunday, February 14, 2010]
DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said that the state will not remain mute if the island nation fails to keep its promises regarding relocation of the tamils. “The DMK government will not hesitate to pressure the Union government for appropriate action,” said the chief minister. Regarding the arrest of Army Chief Sarath Fonseka, the Chief minister said that the state knew from the history of the island nation how people were betrayed and killed. Rulers of Sri Lanka would not have forgotten the way Alexander the Great treated the defeated King Porus,said the Chief Minister.
