AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalitha said on friday that the allegation of the ruling party that the Chief Election Commissioner has acted in her party's favour is baseless. She said that she had remained a serious critic of election commission all the while given the fact that the institution was not able to ensure the conduct of free and fair elections in the Lok Sabha elections and other by elections that were happening for the past three and a half years. Ms Jayalalitha clarified that the election commission decided to extend the election on account of the complaint of the general public that a lot of names were deleted from the election rolls.
