Shiv Sankar Menon calls on Chief Minister [Sunday, January 31, 2010]
The National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon who met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the state secretariat said that the country is holding talks with the Srilankan government to resettle and rehabilitate the displaced tamils in Srilanka. The Security Advisor of the nation said that it was a mere courtesy call between the CM and him and that they had discussed a host of concerning issues. Mr Shiv Shankar Menon also told the press that the Chief Minister also expressed concern about the Indian fishermen and the treatement the had to face in Srilanka. "I assured him that the Indian government would do whatever it can on these issues,", said Mr Menon. It was his first visit to the state after assuming office in the centre.
