AIADMK nominates candidates for Vandavasi and Tiruchendur by elections [Monday, November 23, 2009]
The Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has finally made up its mind to contest for the upcoming by elections in Tiruchendur and Vandavasi constituencies. The AIADMK, the main opposition party of the state said that it does not choose to boy cott the election as in the past. Recently, the party also decided on its candidates who would be contesting for the election. The opposition party leader Ms Jayalalitha said that the party has decided to nominate Mr P Munusamy to the Vandavasy constituency and Mr Amman T Narayanan to Tirucehndur for the by elections. Ms Jayalalitha also clarified her stand that the call for boy cott of the polls in the last by election was an expression of the opposition of the party against the unfair contesting practises and this in no way meant that the party would not contest in the polls permanently.
