Vayalar Ravi, Mnister for Overseas Indian Affairs said that amendments should be made  to the Medical Council of India Act to set in place a regulatory framework to be followed by the private sector. He was addressing a function to facilitate the Chancellor of Vellore Insitute of Technology, G Viswanathan. Mr. Ravi said the government could not remain a spectator to what was going on in the higher education sector.
