The Southern Railway on Monday launched the Duronto Express, the second version of its kind between Delhi and Chennai Central. It is a non stop train between Chennai central and Delhi and covers 2177 kms ata stretch. The train would take only very less time compared to that taken by the Rajadhani express. It is expected that the train would take approximately 27 hours and 55 minutes to reach its destination which is almost one hour less than the Rajadhani. The Southern Railway General Manager said “As and when the Chennai-New Delhi track gets upgraded, the speed of the DE will also be increased, further saving the journey time by about two hours,” .
