The state is immersed in the Pongal celebrations. Families have joined together to celebrate the  festival of prosperity and abundance. The air carries the sounds of festivities and joyful music and the decked earthen pots are overflowing.

                           All political turmoils seem to be at a stand still and the election commission has stayed all proceedings for the by elections. All is well in the state and the pongal is on. The state had taken special initiative to distribute bonuses and other sops to government personnel and to the residents of the state. The public distribution system and the state run shops had all offered discounts well ahead of the festival. Its now time for merry making.
