The Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on sunday launched the fourth version of the Chennai Sangamam and called the people of the state to shun war and give up rigid thinking in the lines of caste and creed. The sangamam was organized on the theme 'Pirappokkum' and was marked by folk dance, classical singing and music. The event was marked by the presence of folk teams performing Kanyian Koothu, oppari, etc. The Chief Minister congratulated the organizers of the conference and said that Tamil language will retain its glory as long as men contributed to its value in similar manner.
