Invites sent to 500 scholars for the World Classic Tamil conference [Friday, December 4, 2009]
As arrangements are gearing up for the World Classical Tamil conference, organizers says that they have sent call letters to 500 tamil scholars to participate in the conference. The conference will be held in Coimabatore in June and it is reported that 50 top dignitaries have given their consent to attend the conference.The coordinator of the academic committee of the conference,M Rajendran, Tamil University Vice Chancellor said that the last date for submission of the abstract of the intended paper was fixed as December 31st. The last date for the submission of the full paper is fixed as February. The academic and advisory committees charing the session are expected to include tamil experts and indologists.George L. Hart of the University of California in Berkeley, Alexander M. Dubianski of Moscow State University and Thomas Malten, Institute of Indology and Tamil Studies, Cologne University, Germany have expressed their willigness to attend the conference.The organizers are also planning to create provisions for online registration.
