The New Year dawns with numerous hopes and aspirations. Though the past year was described as a bleak by many, the humanity had much to learn from it. The economists project a slow down in growth rates and the recessionary effects would continue.

                            A political scientist from Russia has predicted the disintegration of United States by 2010 and that some of the states would join European Union. However, hopes are on the newly elected president Obama and on the erudite economists of the world to save the countries from the gloom of recession. The Indian Stock Markets incurred a loss of 3 trillion over the past year and projections for 2009 do not hold up an interesting picture.
