The DMDK President Vijayakanth and his party cadres held a one day long fast in Chennai to protest against the attack of the Srilankan navy on the indian fishermen  and the alleged stands of the central and state governments. He alleged that the state and the central governments remained mute spectators to the whole event. Mr Vijayakanth aslso said that he is trying to get an appointment with the Prime Minister to discuss the issue and take necessary steps.
