The Prinicipal Secretary of Higher Education Department said on Thursday that the Indian Institute of Management - Tiruchi will function from the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT) from the next academic year. The NIT authorities has conceeded to provide the buildings for classrooms and hostel. "With the Central cabinet approving the IIM-Tiruchi, short-term programmes will be conducted during the course of this year", said the Prinicipal Secretary. He also said that the problem of unfilled vacancies in the engineering colleges was due to the lack of demand for IT programmes.
