Life time prisioner Nalini and her husband Murugan passed the MCA exam with a first class degree. Both inmates also emerged as the first among the other fellow prisoners who took the exam. The MCA course by the Indira Gandhi Nationa Open University (IGNOU) was taken by a number of prisioners in Vellore prison and the examinations for the same ws conducted by the university. Nalini also became the first woman prisoner to have cleared MCA. “She (Nalini) has cleared all subjects with a good score...her husband (Murugan) has also performed extremely well. The couple has emerged toppers among 50 plus inmates who took the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) examinations conducted by the university for prisoners in Tamil Nadu,” said Paneerselvam, Regional Director of IGNOU.
