The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on monday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging him to interfere in the issue of the displaced Srilankans."I feel it is high time that the Government of India exerted diplomatic and political pressure at appropriate levels on the Government of Sri Lanka at least on humanitarian grounds. I hope I can expect early action in this regard," he said. Mr Karunanidhi said that the plight of the displaced Srilankan tamils were pathetic.
