FIA's ban of Briatore overturned  [Tuesday, January 5, 2010]

The life ban that was declared by the FIA World Motor Sport Council on Flavio Briatore at the Singapore Grand Prix was overturned on tuesday. The verdict of the Paris Court has made it clear that the decision of the FIA is rescinded with immediate effect. The Paris court said that the FIA had not produced enough strong evidence in support of their claim that Briatore helped Fernando Alonzo to win the Singapore Grand Prix through a crash from Nelson Piquet Jr. The situation in court was so pitiable that Briatore's lawyers could not even question the witnesses publicly. With the overturning of the ban, Briatore has demanded that FIA should pay 1million euros as compensation to mental agony and disrepute sustained by him over a year.
