Actress Lakshmi Prasanna has bagged the female lead in Maniratnam's upcoming flick. There was a lot of speculation on who would be the heroine of the Pookadai.

Sources reported that Maniratnam will rope in Sonam Kapoor for the flick. The actress who is absolutely thrilled to have grabbed the role is reported to be looking forward to shoot the film. Lakshmi Prasanna confirmed this news on a microblogging site it is official that she will be seen in Mani's next venture.The flick will have Karthik's son Gautham doning the lead. The project will also mark the debut of Lakshmi and Gautam in Tamil.
