Ace actor Dev Anand passes away  [Sunday, December 4, 2011]
   
 
 
Ace Bollywood actor Dev Anand passed away due to cardiac arrest last night. The legendary romantic superstar of Hindi cinema Dev Anand passed away in London. Dev Son Sunil Anand was with him when he passed away. Dev had come to London for his routine check up.
 
The ace actor made his debut in 1946 through the flick  Hum Ek Hain. Then his next project Ziddi elevated him to heights of stardom. For his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, Dev Anand was honoured with the prestigious the 'Padma Bhushan' in 2001 and 'Dada Saheb Phalke Award' in 2002.
 
Dev Anand has won two Filmfare Awards - in 1958 for his performance in the film 'Kala Paani' and in 1966 for his performance in 'Guide'. His other popular films include  'Paying Guest', 'Taxi Driver' 'Tere Ghar Ke Samne'  'Jaal' 'Munimji' 'Baazi', 'Hum Dono' 'Jewel Thief', 'CID', 'Johny Mera Naam', 'Tere Mere Sapne' 'Amir Garib', 'Warrant', 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' and 'Des Pardes'.
