| Shahrukh bags UNESCO award [Monday, November 21, 2011] |

Bollywood actor Sharukh Khan bagged the UNESCO award for his charity engagements and efforts for providing education to children. The 20th UNESCO Awards function was held at Maritim Hotel in Duesseldorf, Germany. "I am super excited cos education for kids is most dear cause to me." tweeted the elated Mr Khan.
Mr Khan is the first Indian to win the Pyramide con Marni award. Shah Rukh was informed about the news by UNESCO ambassador Ute Ohoven. The function was attended by Jet Li, Naomi Campbell, Vladislav Doronin, Mikhail Gorbacheva, Chris de Burgh and Rosanna Davison among others. Former recepients of the award include Dalai Lama, Queen Noor of Jordan, Helen Mirren and Lionel Ritchie. |
