Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has finally given permission to a long time request by theatre owners to screen five shows a day during the Diwali week. "The Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has considered our request and has given us permission to hold five screenings a day starting Wednesday. We are thankful to her for her kind gesture.", said Chennai City Film Exhibitors' Association president Abirami Ramanathan.
"Every year, we request permission to screen five shows during the Diwali weekend. But this year, we have been granted permission to have five shows from October 26 till November 1. In short, theatres in the city will be screening five shows for seven days instead of only during the five-day weekend," he added. Three big budget flicks - 'Velayudham', '7aum Arivu' and 'Ra.One' will hit the screens on Tuesday. |
