Ace choreographer Ashok Raja said that the introductory songs of Vijay flicks mean a lot to his fans. His former flicks Vettaikkaran, Pokkiri, Sivakasi, Villu etc was marked by elaborate dance numbers chorepgraphed by Ashok. He himself was roped in again for the opening number in Velayudham.

 

The number 'Sonna Puriyadhu Sollukkul Aangadhu..' was choreographed by Ashok and said it was the costliest ever dance number of Vijay. The team spent Rs 2 crores on the song alone and it was shot in  Pollachi with thousands of dancers and junior artists. "Director Raja wanted the song in a grand manner and it was not a mere opening song. It has a lot of bearing in the script. Though it was a big task to control the entire group, Vijay being a dance master's delight and his dancing abilities are well known, I could complete it without much hassle", said Ashok. The flick will hit screens on Diwali.
