Kollywood actor Dhanush was given the Best Actor award at the 58th National Film Awards function held in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. He bagged the best award for the flick, Aadukulam.

 

Other Kollywood actors who bagged the award included Saranya Ponvannan (Best Actress - 'Thenmerku Paruvakaatru'), Vairamuthu (Best Lyricist - 'Thenmerku Paruvakaatru'), Vetrimaran (Best Screenplay and Direction - 'Aadukalam'), Thambi Ramaiah (Best Supporting Actor - 'Mynaa'), Kishore (Best Edting - 'Aadukalam'), Dinesh (Best Choreography - 'Aadukalam'). Thenmerku Paruvakatru was honoured with the Best Film Award in the regional movies category. Art director Sabu Cyril was given award for special effects in Enthiran. Veteran Kollywood director K B Balachander was presented the Dada Sahib Phalke award at the function.
