Kollywood director Venkat Prabhu has tonsured his head, as part of his religious vow to do the same if all goes well with Mankatha release. Venkat Prabhu tonsured his head in Tirupathi at the abode of Lord Blaji. The religious director also planned the release of the flick a day before Vinayaka Chathurthi poojas.

The director also attended the marriage of his cousin and music director Yuan Shankar Raja in Tiupati. Mankatha received a wonderful reception in India and abroad. Tickets were completly sold out in US theatres. The latest buzz from the team is that the flcik will be dubbed in telugu as 'Gambler'.
