Ace kollywood director Maniratnam spends unusually long time in planning out his projects. For all Maniratnam fans who were always wondering what the director was up to after his much acclaimed bilingual, Raavanan, here comes the answer. The director is all set to direct a kollywood flick which will be based on the life of fishing community.

The flick will be based on a romantic genre and will be based in Kerala. For all the mollywood audience, the next thing that would come to mind in the old classic, Chemmeen. We have to wait to know if the director is intending to reinstate the classic by coming up with an upgraded version of the classic romantic flick. The story of the flick is penned by Jayamohan who penned the scripts for Angadi Theru and Naan Kadavul. The director is busy gathering his crew to start the venture. Ace cinematographer Rajiv Menon will be a part of the team according to sources.
