The overnight elevation of S A Chandrasekhar from the post of Vice President to President of Tamil Film Producers Council has sparked a controversy within the organization. The protesters argued that the director made a back door entry instead of facing the elections.
"When a president resigns, election should be conducted to elect the new one.But SAC has made a backdoor entry only to promote the political interests of his son Vijay. Let him face the election and become the president. We have no problems in it.” , they said.Responding to this SAC said that it was a normal procedure that one of the vice-presidents would be elected as the chief if the existing president resigns. The rebels have called a meeting on Friday to discuss the future course of action in this regard.
