Ace kollywood director and father of STR, Vijaya T Rajender has bagged the distribution rights of Vaanam in Chennai. The film will be distributed all through Chennai by Kural TV Creations, the home banner of STR. “Silambarasan’s home banner Kural TV Creations will distribute ‘Vaanam’ in Chennai region. There is no specific reason behind this decision as this is the case for most Simbu movies." said close sources.

Meanwhile some STR fans also appreciated the actor for not signing Ko. They said that the flick had little scope for the protagonist. In his reply the actor said it was not right to criticise anyone's decision. ‘I have great respect for my colleagues in the industry. I will not allow my fans to talk bad about anyone.
