Putting end to breath taking moments at the Mumbai Wanghade Stadium on saturday, Team India, baged the coveted World Cup, 2011 trophy, defeating the lions of Srilanka. Srilanka put an end to the runs reaping at 274 for 7 wickets. The openers Shewag and Sachin could not stay long on field under the extreme pressure levied by the Lankans. Sachin could hardly score 31.

However the Gautham Gambhir rose to take responsibility, and led the team brilliantly, first in a partnership with Virat Kohli and then with Dhoni. However luck was hard on him and kept him just 3 runs away from a century. Later the match was brilliantly carried forward by Dhoni and Yuvaraj Singh. Malinga's orthodox bowling techniques were used opportunistically by the Indian captain. He finished it off smartly with 277 for 4 wickets, and the cup was all to Team India. Tears of joy rolled down the eyes of Indian fans, and there stadium was flooded with thunderous applause and shouting for Team India.
