S P Balasubramaniam, Jayaram and Tabu was felicitated with Padma awards on Thursday. The awards were presented by president Pratibha Patil in the presence of Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other dignitories. S P Balasubrahmanyam was honoured with the Padma Bhusan, both Jayaram and Tabu were presented Padma Shri. It was the first part of the Padma awards that were disbursed on Thursday. The rest of the awards will be given away on April 1.
