Ace director Maniratnam is planning to start off with his epic flick, Ponniyin Selvan in Mysore Palace, a centre of tourist attraction. The flick which is based on the story of of Rajaraja Cholan of the Chola Dynasty requires an actual palace as its primary location. Mani Ratnam and team is heard to have submitted a request letter for the same to the  Mysore Palace Mandali deputy director P.V.Avaradhi . A number of films were shot in Mysore Palace. It is expected that the upcoming flick will cast the limelight on the palace once again, and in a novel way.
