Madras High Court sets aside Seeman's arrest [Saturday, December 11, 2010]
Kollywood director Seeman's arrest under the National Security Act has been set aside by the Madras High Court. The court comprising of judges Elipe Dharma Rao and D Hariparanthaman set aside the arrest made by the Additional Commissioner of Police. Seeman was arrested on July 12 from the Chennai collectorate for allegedly making a seditious speech to condemn the Srilankan Navy's attack on Tamil fishermen near the coast.The High Court took up the case for consideration on behalf of a pettition filed by S James Peter, brother of Seeman.
