Kaavalan in trouble [Wednesday, November 24, 2010]
The Madras High Court stayed the release of Kaavalan starring Vijay on wednesday. The release of the flick was stayed under a petition filed by J K Saravanan of Tantra Films. Mr Saravanan has filed a suit against Romesh Babu, the producer of Kaavalan. In his petition, Saravanan alleged that Romesh has offered the overseas distribution rights of the flick to him fpr Rs 5 crore and later sold the rights to Cinema Paradise. He also alleged that he had given an advance of Rs 1.5 crore. The case was heard by Justice S Rajeswaran and he stayed the release of the movie for six weeks. He also send a notice to the producer in this regard. The new development has put off all Vijay fans who were getting set to celebrate the release of Kaavalan in December.
