The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce decided to boycott bollywood films to protest against the decison of choosing Colombo as the venue to conduct the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA). The President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC), C Kalyan announced that if any star or technician attends the IIFA in Colombo, their films will be boycotted by all theatres in Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka. The office bearers of the SIFCC also emphasised that they were not against the IIFA , but against its decison to hold the Awards fucntion in Colombo. In addition to this univocal decion from the SIFCC, the protest of the state has been lodged quite explicitly against conducting the IIFA in colombo. Actors like Kamal Hasan, Aishwarya Rai Bachan, Abhishekh Bachan, Vikram etc have decided not to attene the IIFA in colombo.
