Despite the great many accolades won for his film Raavan, Maniratnam will now have another golden feather to his crown. Maniratnam will be honoured with a Jaeger Le Coultre' award for the best film maker. The award will be presented to him at the Venice Film Festival. “Mani Ratnam is one of the greatest innovators in contemporary Indian cinema. He helped introduce the auteur concept to contemporary Bollywood.

'Raavan' will be screened at the venice festival in both tamil and hindi.  “Raavan will enchant audiences with its stirring drama and entrancing musical sequences.
