After the tamil community all over the world protested against the participation of Amitabh and his family at the IIFA awards, his son and daughter in law, Abhishekh and Aishwarya dropped their plans of attending the IIFA awards at the island nation.

Tamil director Mani Ratnam had already withdrew from screening Raavan at the IIFA awards. Both Aishwarya and Abhishekh said that they will not be able to attend the awards function due to prior engagements and other personal reasons. Amitabh has not yet come clear on his stand regarding his visit. But it is expected that the actor will soon join the league of his son and family in withdrawing from IIFA function in colombo in June first week.
