Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif denied dates to Vijay starrer flick, which is also the remake of '3 Idiots' in tamil. The rights to remake the film has been bought by Gemini Film Circuit and lead actors of Kollywood, Vijay, Suriya, Madhavan, Jeeva and Dhanush has been proposed for the roles donned by Amir, Madhavan etc Katrina was approached to take up the role of Piya, played by Kareena Kapoor in the flick.

But the media manager of the actress informed that she will not be able to take up the project as she has been fully booked for the rest of the year. Though many south indian heroines showed interest in taking up the role, the unit was particular about Katrina. With an outright no from her side, the team will have to spot out an alternative quickly to keep going with the project at the scheduled time.
