Vairamuthu who hearkened to the composition of A R Rahman for the World Classical Tamil Conference said that the song will turn out to be a hit in the conference. The first version of the song was rendered before the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and others.

 “This song will be to Tamil Nadu and Tamilians what Vande Mataram is to India.” said Vairamuthu. Sources say that the song starts with the word 'Pirappokkum', which is also the theme of the conference. The song has references to the five epics in tamil literature.
