The audio of Arya starrer 'Madharasapattinam' was launched in Chennai City Trade Centre on sunday by Kamal Hasan and director Shankar. The stage recreated the Madras of 1940's. The film that is produced by Kalpathi Agoram for AGS Entertainment is directed by Vijay of 'Kireedam' fame. The film is based on Madras at the pre independence times. The director in his address said that he was inspired by Kollywood actor Kamal Hasan's 'Marudhanayagam'. “I request Kamal sir to restart ‘Marudhanayagam’. Such films should sure reach audience and they should not be stopped in mid-way. I thank my producer and colleagues for their cooperation and support for ‘Madharasapattinam’.”said the director.

Speaking at the function, Arya expressed hope that the film is well recieved by the audience. “Credits should be given to AGS Entertainment, who had come forward to produce such a beautiful film. Not just ‘Madharasapattinam’, but AGS has been constantly making movies with a difference.” said Kamal Hasan appreciating the efforts of the unit.

The film is expected to hit screens by the end of April. Actor Arya said that he has put his full self into the movie and said that he was happy to be a part of such a big budgeted movie.
