Indian President Prathibha Patel honoured legendary musician A R Rahman with Padma Bushan at a ceremony at the Ashoka Hall in Rashtrapati Bhavan on wednesday. The event was also marked by the presence of other 21 Padma awardees and numerous other guests from all spheres. A R Rahman was honoured with Padma for his great contributions to Indian music and for the legendary achievements that he has made at the Academy awards last year. Together with A R, Amir Khan, nobel winning Indian origin scientist Venkataraman Ramakrishnan, Ebrahim Alkazhi , Pandit Channulal etc were also honoured with Padma awards.
