The decision of some theatres in Chennai to screen the IPL matches live from March 12 has won the opposition from many film producers. The Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council President Ram Narayanan has requested the theatre owners not to screen the IPL matches. He said that the screening would affect the collection from movies. "We have requested Theatre Owners Association president Abirami S Ramanathan not to allow any such move. Because screening of cricket matches in cinema theatres would surely affect revenue generated by films,"said he. A similar objection was also raised by Kannada Film Producers in Bangalore.
