Kollywood's Ilayathilagam, Prabhu wrote in a letter to Union Minister Anbumani Ramdoss that he should not hinder the release of 'Asal' over arguments of smoking ban. The actor, who is also the producer of the film said that the team has put in all efforts to spread the message that smoking is injurious for health. He added that the same will also be advertised during the trailors. He however pleaded that the minister should not do anything that would hinder the release of the movie. "As you know the film industry is going through turbulent times, we request you as a responsible leader in your own right to see that your people do not create disturbances to our industry," said Prabhu in a letter to the Union Minister.
