Kollywood actor Jayaram will act in the flick 'Ponnar Shankar', the script of which is written by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. The film has Kushboo acting as the female lead. Jayaram came over to kollywood through the film 'Gokulam'. Ever since then, the actor has been tightly packed throughout the year committing himself to Tamil and Malayalam projects. The actor does an average of about six mollywood projects and numerous kollywood flicks a year. He considers himself in a safe zone where he is preferred next after the most sought for actors Mammotty and Mohanlal.
