Bollywood stars Sharukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra won the awards for the best actor and actress in the fifth Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards. The award for the best director was bagged by Murugadoss. He also bagged the award for the best screen play writer for his works in Gajini. The much coveted Chevrolet Heart Beat of the Nation Award was bagged by young actors Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for their performance in Kaminey and Love Aaj Kal. The award for the best male and female singers were bagged by Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Goshal respectively. The Best Life Time Achievement Award was won by Amitabh Bachan.
