Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said that houses would be constructed for film workers at the earliest. He was speaking at the national conference of All India Film Employees Federation in Chennai. He said that the matter had been discussed with the finance secreatry and the necessary funds would be allocated soon. The Chief Minister was presented with a life time achiever award by the association and the chief minister said that the proposed project would be in similar lines to the one in Andhra Pradesh. He said that the housing colony would be titled as 'Oviya Ulagam'. “There would be no need for the film employees to make any financial contribution,” said the chief minister.
