Shriya was advised by actor Sarath Kumar to wear a saree for the audio and trailer launch of his film 'Jaggubai'. Sarath Kumar acts as Shriya's dad in the film. The advise followed the issues that the actress faced at many public functions. Shriya was warned twice to adopt a proper dress code at public functions at two instances. One was when she appeared with a skimpy dress in a function attended by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. The other warning was issued at another function attended by Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin.
