Yester year's actress S Varalakshmi aging 84 years passed away on tuesday at her residence in Chennai. She is survived by a daughter and a son. Her most important roles were in films like 'Veerapandiya Kattabomman', 'Maattukkara Velan' and 'Neethikku Thalaivanangu' . She was also a talented singer in the field. She was born in Andhra Pradesh and started her career with the film 'Balayogini' in which she acts as a saint. The actress has also sung in all the movies that she has acted. She was married to film producer A L Srinivasan. She continued to act in motherly and elderly roles in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
